An oldie, but goodie!

I took this image of my niece a few years ago. I decided to add this to the Sample Portraits section on my web site. Given that I am not near her as often as I used to be, I found myself looking through a lot of my older portraits of her. This remains one of my favorites!

2 Days In The Valley - Yosemite

I just got back from Yosemite! I had a great time shooting & hanging out with my buddy Minh. We had another friend that was supposed to come as well, but unfortunately he could not make it. He was missed. This is the first time I've ever gone to Yosemite solely for the purposes of shooting, and I now understand why some photographers spend a lifetime shooting there. As seasons change, there is always something different. Having said that, there were only a few images that I really liked during the editing process. Perhaps I have to step back for a while and revisit the images later on. Anyway, here are a few images from the shoot.

Night on the Embarcadero

Earlier this week, my friend Minh & I set out to get some photographs of San Francisco by night. We shot near the Golden Gate bridge, and on Embarcadero. Though I had a few issues with one of my lenses earlier in the evening near Fort Point, my shots along the Embarcadero near the Bay Bridge and Pier 14 came out quite nice! We shot until 2am, and enjoyed the shoot so much that we went back out in time to catch the sunrise. We only managed to get 3 hours sleep, but its a small price to pay for a good time.

An Afternoon at the Marin Headlands

I took these photos last weekend. Sadly, the weather and light wasn't too friendly. I managed to walk away with a few images that were somewhat promising.

Under the Pacifica Pier

This image was taken while trying to kill a little time before a meeting I had scheduled in San Francisco. Most people that view this photo seem to be reminded of a spaceship landing.

en route to Big Sur

The day I shot this image was a lot of fun. I got a chance to hang out with my buddies and fellow photographers Thomas Barclay & Minh Ly. The day was filled with laughter, gear talk, and sharing our own tips and tricks for improving image quality. This was my favorite among the images I took that day.

Waddell Beach

I took these two photos recently at Waddell Beach near Big Basin Redwoods State Park. The sunset was beautiful and I was very lucky to have arrived at the right place at the right time. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do. The top photo was chosen as Aperture Academy's Photo of the Day on March 4th, 2010.
