Four Mile Beach (Santa Cruz, CA)

Yesterday, I set out to locate Four Mile Beach, just outside of Santa Cruz along Highway 1. I was surprised to have found it relatively fast considering that there are no markers. That seems to be the case for all of the best beaches. Cars parked in the middle of nowhere is usually a good sign though. Stephen Trainor's "The Photographer's Ephemeris" got me in the general vicinity, and I marked my preferred spot in the app on my iPhone for future reference! Four Mile Beach is a beautiful location and I intend to go back very soon! My filters required more repeated cleaning than usual due to the constant mist that stubbornly insisted on coming in my direction, lol. Friend and fellow photographer Phil Richardson, and I planned on shooting with the full moon later on that night, but the tide was starting to get close to the shoreline, so Phil and I decided against it. Not exactly a tough call. I suggested we stay and go surfing, but Phil wasn't too keen on that. Can't imagine why :) Anyway, I had a lot of fun and was happy to walk away with a few decent images.
